| Mr. Hastings lecture this evening will be
on an historic French performer, Joseph Pujol, better know by his stage
name of 'Le Petomane,' who's outrageous act became extremely popular in
the early 1900's. His performance consisted of passing wind. He produced
the sounds with a unique technique of pulling fresh air in, then
expelling it again to approximate musical tunes, but completely free from
the normally associated odors. The lecture will cover history, physiology,
and the act itself. This will be followed by a brief demonstration. |
